About Biomass
Biomass, in essence, covers all of the waste products of biological origin. All kinds of waste material contains carbon, when it’s burnt it gives energy. Wood, plant, human and animal feces, cereal straw, waste such as algae, have significant amounts of energy. Burning waste polluters, can clean the environment, both energy (heat and electricity) can be obtained. As the structure of Biomass it can be solid, fluid or in gas form. It should not be forgotten that all three forms are related to the origin of the source.
Biomass is defined as biomass in some sources so also it unfolds to have a certain volume. As is known, the energy of the sun on the basis of this mass of green plants through photosynthesis converting chemical energy storage is located in the organic material resulting resources. Although biomass is an energy source that is easy to obtain it is of great importance for countries like ours to do agriculture. Turkey, in connection with this matter has used biomass only as heating source so far. However, in a certain cycle of this resource thinking to provide high energy efficiency it is necessary to pass processes that require the introduction of new structures. In renewable recources situated biomass sources largest technical potential it is important to use it in environmentally-friendly features.
Energy obtained from biomass is called biomass energy. Biomass energy is possible to examine in two groups in terms of classic and modern.
1. Classical; firewood obtained from conventional forest and also used as fuel in the plant and animal waste (such as manure).
2. Modern; if it is biomass energy; energy forestry and forest-wood industry waste, vegetable waste in the agricultural sector, urban waste, industrial waste is based on sorted agriculture.
Besides biomass energy, furniture, paper, insulation material, such as construction it is used in many other areas. In use as energy, solid, liquid and gaseous fuels are used to obtain a variety of technologies. Bio ethanol, biogas, as well as fuels such as biodiesel, again derived biomass, manure, hydrogen, it is possible to count on many more types of fuel such as methane and wood briquettes. These fuels are limited thermo-chemical and biochemical techniques to obtain new and improved efficiency has been increased over the years.
Traditionally electricity and heat is a disadvantage in terms of energy consumption to produce separately. Because a large part of the energy used is lost and can not be used. Getting about 25% of the energy efficiency of electricity production, while the production of electricity and heat (cogeneration) can reach up to 85% of efficiency. Minimization of energy consumption and heat generated by electricity with combined heat and power systems is presented as a real alternative. Wood, straw, paper and all ligno-cellulosic materials, such as many vegetable fibers is an important energy source. The main problem of Materials volume / weight ratio is large; processing, storage and transport is difficult and it is expensive. This problem can be solved by drying the material and then compressing the production of fuel pellets and briquettes under very high pressure. These items will have a higher density (more than 2-fold) and will have a high heat value.
Sources and Uses
BIO FUEL
Biofuels; biomass resources are considered as liquid form. These fuels, especially in transport can be seen as an alternative to use in fuel or liquid form.
BIO POWER
Bio power for the burning of the biomass is converted directly into heat or gas and is used mainly to produce energy.
BIO PRODUCT
Bio products are produced with reference to the biomass supply of some products in the same way as oil resources.
Our Works
Bio Fuel is obtained by recently lived organisms or their metabolic output.
Highly efficient biogas production can be achieved from poultry manure. When this fertilizer can not be used in agriculture when turned to biogas it would be benefited.
Sugar in the algae developed a technique that converts fuel.
Ethanol (bioethanol) obtained from plants, as an energy source that can continue, due to environmental and economic environmental benefits it provides, it provides advantages compared to fossil fuels. Ethanol is commonly obtained from sugar cane and corn.
New sources of alternative energy "Algae"
